The DS2155LC2+ is an integrated transceiver module designed for backplane applications in telecom base station systems. It integrates the latest chipset technology and low-power, high-performance CMOS architecture into a space-saving package, enabling it to support multiple network applications for far distances, thus meeting the increasing demand for advanced telecom system designs.
This transceiver module combines the functionality of a high-speed Serial InterfaceController (DS2155LC2) and a Light-Emitting Diode (LED) Interfacing section (DS2155L2)together with a dedicated multiplexing control IC (DS2155L3) in a single module.
The DS2155LC2+ is ideally suited for interface communication modes such as single-modefiber-optic, toll quality digital-loop-carrier and multipoint systems. It is designed to facilitate theeffective transition from the current asynchronous communication technologies to the emerging high speed synchronous communication technologies, while providing flexibility and reliability.

Working Principle of DS2155LC2+
The DS2155LC2+ operates using a unique serialized bit-level pulse code modulation (PCM) format over a single pair of twisted wire pairs or single-mode optical fiber that is compliant with ITU-T G.959.1, ITU-T G.709 and the 802.3 Ethernet standards.
The DS2155LC2+ uses an integrated control logic to multiplex the data onto the same serial line. The under-line transmission line is divided into multiple channels and the data of each channel is transmitted via the same line with a fixed bit rate. The control logic is responsible for synchronization between each channel as well as for error detection, making it able to maintain a reliable signal quality in a variety of network environments.
The DS2155LC2+ module is also capable of transmitting and receiving data efficiently over fiber-optic lines. The device can multiplex up to 127 channels running different services onto an optical fiber using variable data rate from 1 Mbps to 155 Mbps. The module can also be used to increase the transmission distance of up to 120 km using single-mode optical fiber.
