This type of oscillator can be used in both single frequency and range frequency applications with the ability to reduce lead times and simplify system development.
The main features of DS DS2010FE2-B0007 Pin Configurable/Selectable Oscillators are the extremely low voltage operation, wide range of frequencies, programmable output types, selectable exponent and response speed, extended environmental range and wide package offerings. This type of oscillator is capable of providing frequencies from 1 MHz to 250 MHz. The low power operation and wide frequency selection make it suitable for a variety of applications including digital frequency synthesizers, mobile communications, medical instrumentation, data acquisition systems, aerospace instrumentation and frequency control devices.
The working principle of the DS2010FE2-B0007 Pin Configurable/Selectable Oscillators is based on the quartz crystal which produces mechanical resonance which can be converted into electrical pulses or frequencies. The quartz crystal is either a piezoelectric material which produces an electric signal when a mechanical force is applied to it or a capacitive effect which produces an electrical signal when a voltage is applied to it.
The quartz crystal is connected to the output pins of the oscillator and these pins act as a feedback loop for the oscillator. The frequency of the output signal is determined by the physical parameters of the quartz crystal, such as its geometry or the amount of applied force. The oscillation frequency of the oscillator is determined by the capacitive loading effect of the crystal with respect to the output pins.
