The DSC400-0202Q0107KI1 is a pin configurable / selectable oscillator designed for an ultra-wide range of applications. Operating from a single 3.3V operating voltage, this oscillator provides exceptional performance across the entire frequency range of 10kHz to 10GHz.
This oscillator utilizes a unique pin configurable architecture which allows the user to select the desired frequency simply by programming two pins. Once programmed, the frequency can be adjusted to within ±50ppm accuracy over the entire operating temperature range. Additionally, this device is powered using a single 3.3V supply and is immune to supply transients and EMI/RFI due to its low-noise design.
The DSC400-0202Q0107KI1 is optimized for applications requiring extremely precise timing, such as test and measurement, modulation/demodulation, high-speed disk drives and communication systems. This device also features low power consumption, low phase noise and excellent thermal stability, making it ideal for timing-critical applications.
The operating principle of the DSC400-0202Q0107KI1 is based on a Quartz Resonator and Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) integrated circuit technology. The Quartz Resonator serves to provide the startup frequency and the TCXO serves to provide the fine tuning. This device also includes a dual-stage internal loop filter and a unique PLL circuit to detect and adjust the output frequency over a wide temperature range.
The on-chip crystal is permanently programmed during manufacturing and it is the key element that allows for precise and stable timing performance regardless of environmental temperature. This crystal is insured by a built-in protection circuit to prevent the Oscillator from operating at an incorrect frequency or from sustaining electrical interference from EMI/RFI.
The output of the DSC400-0202Q0107KI1 is available in LVDS and HCSL formats and is designed to drive over short and long cables. This device also offers wide voltage swings, low jitter and excellent long-term frequency stability.
