Pin Configurable/Selectable Oscillators are special type of electrical components that allow users to specify specific frequencies or other aspects of the oscillator performance. The oscillator is configured by connecting address pins on the oscillator to either Vcc or Gnd. In terms of working principle, the oscillator consists of two major components: a crystal oscillator and a digital phase-locked loop (PLL) circuit. The output of the crystal oscillator is then connected to the PLL circuit which will adjust frequency and phase of the output signal by varying the voltage supplied to it.
