Working Principle

The DSC6021CI2A-009UT is a ceramic based twostep oscillator circuit consisting of a quartz resonance tuner and oscillator. The Quartzity provides the desired frequency of 9MHz. The quartz crystal and capacitors are then wired together to form a parallel resonant circuit and a triggered relaxation oscillator. The quartz crystal acts as a frequency-determining element and one of the capacitors acts as an output buffer producing a low pull-in voltage. As the external voltage (VDD) changes, the capacitor stores energy and causes the RC network to tend to oscillate at a lower frequency. A temperature compensate voltage is applied to the quartz crystal which compensates for the quartz crystal\'s frequency drift with respect to temperature, resulting in a frequency accuracy of ±20ppm over the temperature range of -40 to +85°C. Additionally, the VDD applied to the oscillator core is monitored and adjusted over temperature to provide outstanding VDD stability. This oscillator module provides exceptional stability and reliability due to its advanced voltage regulation, steady frequency response, and superior jitter performance.
