Pin Configurable/Selectable Oscillators are components which can be used to produce oscillations with different frequencies. The DSC6021CI2A-00A1 hardware component is exactly one such oscillators. This component has a few unique features that make it desirable for certain applications.
This component has a frequency range of 1MHz-141MHz and its output can be adjusted up to +-50ppm in resolution. This means that its frequency accuracy can be extremely accurate and this is one of the features that make this component unique among oscillators.
However, its most important feature is its pin configurability. Pin configurability refers to the ability of a component to be programmed to produce different frequencies through selection of pins on its body. This component has 6 such pins, which allows it to be used for a wide variety of applications.
The component works on an LVCMOS 3.3V power supply and its operating temperature is 0 ~ 70 degrees Celsius. The maximum current consumption of this component is 140mA.
Inside the component are two oscillators, each with a different frequency range. The first oscillator can be set to one of three predetermined frequencies, while the second oscillator has an adjustable frequency between 1MHz-141MHz.
These two oscillators are tied together and synchronized, which means the two frequencies will remain constant even when the component is in use. This ensures that the output is always accurate and reliable.
The component also contains an On-chip VCXO which is capable of frequency shifting and can also be used as a frequency synthesizer. This VCXO is used to modulate the frequency of the two oscillators and to change the frequency range of each.
