RF Evaluation and Development Kits, Boards are rapidly evolving with progress in the radio technology field. One of them is DVK-RM024-P50-M evaluation board. The DVK-RM024-P50-M board consists of the base board and two daughter boards, namely the mini-module daughter board and the low-noise amplifier daughter board.   • The Mini Module Board, which contains an RFX2400TC module, a receiver board, and a transmitter board.

Apart from the baseboard and daughter boards, the DVK-RM024-P50-M kit also offers additional features, such as a CR2032 cell battery holder and several antenna design options. It helps to eliminate time-consuming RF reference design.

The DVK-RM024-P50-M evaluation boards use two staging paths to complete the transmission process. The first one is the source Ethernet path, which consists of an Ethernet Controller (EC), a serial port, and an Ethernet-UART (EU). The second path is the destination half-duplex path, which consists of a receiver board, a transmitter board, a radio frequency generator, and an antenna. The source and destination paths are connected by wires between the two boards.

To send a signal from the source, the EtherTIP-specific protocol is used. This protocol requires the source to transmit data twice. This is so that the destination will have the data and acknowledgement that the data was sent. Once the source transmits the data, the receiver board will receive the data and store it. After that, the transmitter board will send a signal back to the source to indicate that the message has been received.

The DVK-RM024-P50-M evaluation board works on these principles to give quick and accurate information when evaluating the RM024 chip. This helps to identify issues with the radio technology before commercializing and implementing it. It also helps to directly assess, verify, and analyze the performance of the chip with real-time graph results. In addition, it can support the development of antenna design, Bluetooth version selection, frequency stability optimization, system behavior simulation as well as RF matching.
