E-L9338MD Application Field And Working PrinciplePower management integrated circuits (PMICs) are a type of integrated circuit (IC) that provides active power management (APM) solutions to mobile device systems. The active power management solutions are designed to be flexible, efficient, reliable and cost-effective. The E-L9338MD is an example of a PMIC.The E-L9338MD is a standalone power distribution switch, load driver, and power management integrated circuit (PMIC) device intended for use in high-performance, low-voltage applications. The E-L9338MD is offered in a 7x7mm QFN48 package with a 0.5-mm pitch and features a wide range of output voltages and load current support. The E-L9338MD allows the user to select one of two operating voltages (1.8V or 3.3V) and provides a number of output voltage options (for 1.8V operation, 0.8V, 1.2V, 1.5V, and 1.8V; and for 3.3V operation, 2.5V and 3.3V). It also integrates an adjustable, ultra-low quiescent current low dropout (LDO) regulator and a low-voltage regulator.The E-L9338MD is designed to enable the user to have greater control over the power distribution on their device. The device can be used for control of multiple loads in a wide variety of applications such as computing, automotive, consumer, and industrial applications. The device supports simultaneous multi-load switching and allows the user to optimize the power distribution by controlling the output current and voltage.The E-L9338MD is designed to enable efficient and reliable power management and cost savings compared to traditional discrete solutions. The device integrates two ultra-low quiescent current (LQC) low dropout (LDOs) regulators with selectable output voltages, a programmable low-voltage regulator and a low counter switch. This integration allows the user to select the best power management configuration while saving board space and cost.The working principle of the E-L9338MD is based on its various operating modes. The first mode is power distribution mode in which the device can be operated as a multi-load power switch. In this mode, up to four outputs can be configured as either high or low current outputs. The high current outputs can be set to provide up to 500mA of current with selectable output voltages. The low current outputs are limited to a maximum of 50mA of current.The second mode is the LDO mode in which the device can be used as an adjustable LDO regulator. In this mode, the user can select the output voltage and the maximum current output. The third mode is the low-voltage regulator mode in which the device can be used as a low-voltage regulator to provide a fixed output voltage.The E-L9338MD is a PMIC device that offers an array of features and functions to allow the user to optimize their device power management configuration. The device provides features such as a wide range of output voltages, adjustable maximum current outputs, and two operating voltages.
