The emitter produces a beam of light through a convertor lens and projects it into the detector\'s field of view. The detector then sends a signal to an electronic circuit which triggers an on/off output. The most common type of E3T-SR12 sensor uses a light to dark mode that output a signal when the light beam is blocked. When the beam of light is interrupted, it sends a signal to the electronic circuit and the output is triggered on.The detector element of the E3T-SR12 has two different sensitivity levels. The first level is used for a short operating distance and is used to monitor slow or stationary objects. The second level is used for a long operating distance and is used to monitor rapidly moving objects. If the emitter detects an object within its detection range, the detector will send a signal to the electronic circuit which triggers the output.
