E3Z-T61-G2SHW-M1 is an optical sensor that belongs to the Photoelectric, Industrial category. It is a Sensing Element Unit with a micro-sized body of 20.4mm width, 26.5mm height and a depth of 35mm. The sensor offers M18 threaded cylindrical shape with an integrated amplifier (built-in voltage regulator) and an NPN output that can be used in dark-ON and light-ON operation.

The E3Z-T61-G2SHW-M1 comprises of three parts, namely, the sensing head, the main body and the amplifier. The sensing head has an LED display with a frequency of 8kHz to 27kHz for various adjustment times. The sensing characteristics of the device can also be adjusted with the use of three types of sensitivity knobs, such as Light-ON (ON Time) adjustment knob, Dark-ON (OFF Time) adjustment knob and Light/Dark PNP output current adjustment knob. In addition, the device has reverse polarity protection and surge prevention against surge voltage for better life protection.
The working principle of E3Z-T61-G2SHW-M1 is related to its ability to detect presence of objects in front of the device using the transceiver principle or sensing detection. The LED in the device emits infrared light and when the infrared light is reflected by an object in front of the device, it is detected by the phototransistor which then determines and controls the output. As a result, when the object is detected, the device sends out an output signal, depending on the status of the output type selection. The output signal generated can be used to control the electrical equipment or operate machinery.
The operations and functions of the device are also controllable with the use of a variety of controls and settings. The Light/Dark Output Mode setting is used to select the type of operation like Light/Dark ON operation. Other parameters such as sensitivity, ON-OFF time, output polarity selection, and gain can be easily adjusted using the sensitivity adjustment screws and digital interface. The device also has a built-in function slot that allows for the use of programming functions such as line scan mode, multi-beam mode, periodical output mode, batch count mode and an LED indicator indicating the difference between the individual output and the total output.
