Power Line Filter Modules are electronic components useful for the suppression of interferences from conducted and radiated sources in power lines. This article will discuss the EAM-06-331 application field and working principle.
The EAM-06-331 module is a three-stage power line filter specially designed for medium and high-power applications. It is a high-frequency/higher-voltage filter module which can handle up to 25 A per phase. It provides superior power line filtering protection against inherent switching transients, and also protects against the effects of lightning. It is highly reliable in operation and provides a high degree of safety by meeting all the relevant safety standards.
The EAM-06-331 module has an integrated and well-designed structure for high performance. It consists of three stages: the input stage, the output stage, and the transient suppression elements. The input stage includes one or more capacitors connected to the input power line. The output stage consists of one or more capacitors and a common-mode inductor connected to the output power line. The transient suppression elements consist of a high-voltage MOV and an NTC thermistor.
The EAM-06-331 module works by suppressing conducted interference from the power line. The input capacitor acts as a high-pass filter, allowing only high-frequency signals to pass through, while blocking the low-frequency signals. This reduces the conducted interference from the power line. The output capacitors also act as a low-pass filter, allowing the low-frequency signals to pass through, while blocking the high-frequency signals. This reduces the conducted interference from the output power line. The common-mode inductor in the output stage filters out common-mode interferences, such as differential mode + noise and differential mode – noise. The high-voltage MOV and NTC thermistor act as surge suppressors by absorbing transient spikes.
In addition to suppressing conducted interferences, the EAM-06-331 module also suppresses radiated interferences. The input capacitor and the output capacitors act as shielding devices, blocking the electromagnetic radiation from the power line. The common-mode inductor also acts as a shield by blocking the differential-mode radiation from the output power line.
The EAM-06-331 module is a highly efficient and reliable power line filter module. It provides superior power line filtering performance in medium and high-power applications. It reduces the conducted interferences from the power line as well as suppresses radiated interferences. It is also highly reliable in operation and meets all relevant safety standards.
