Power Line Filter Modules provide effective noise suppression for switching power supplies, AC/DC conversion, DC/DC conversion, power conditioning and motor drive applications. The EAP-16-681 is a power line filter module designed especially for professional and industrial applications. It features a compact design and low-cost, which offers great advantages in power line noise suppression and high efficiency.

The EAP-16-681 power line filter module has two main components, the main filter and the signal connection port. The main filter is connected to the power line and provides effective noise reduction and suppression of unwanted AC interference. The signal connection port is designed to connect to the input and output of the power source, such as an AC/DC converter. This port also supplies the filter with the necessary DC voltage for filtering the AC line noise.

The main filter of the EAP-16-681 power line filter module consists of a series of metal-oxide varistors (MOVs) and LC gas discharge tubes. The MOVs act as temporary short circuits, quickly clamping down the high frequency transients on the line. The varistor also provides some protection against over-voltage from the power source. The basic principle behind the MOVs is to absorb the transients quickly and prevent them from entering or affecting the system.

The LC gas discharge tubes are used to suppress any remaining unwanted high frequency noise. The gas discharge tubes contain a combination of inductors and capacitors to filter out the electromagnetic interference from the power line. The inductors absorb the higher frequencies, while the capacitors absorb the lower frequencies. The gas discharge tubes of the EAP-16-681 filter module have a frequency range of 10KHz to 300MHz and offer a low pass filtering of up to 60dB.
