Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits

The evaluation and development board, EC-VA-H264-8B-60-1080-EVXC-ZL, is an integrated platform specially designed for the purpose of testing and validating video encoding and other related parts of the video system. It provides the foundation of design to facilitate the implementation of real-time, multiple-image video data capture and encoding, and then send them through the standard video interface. EC-VA-H264-8B-60-1080-EVXC-ZL is an advanced, reliable and highly integrated solution for applications such as digital video broadcast, digital set-top boxes, television receivers, digital satellite systems, IP video networking and video conferencing.

The EC-VA-H264-8B-60-1080-EVXC-ZL evaluation and development board is based on an 8-bit 60fps @ 1080p configuration. The integrated MIPI camera capture module captures 64-bit data from 4 cameras simultaneously, and the image processor captures full-resolution image data directly from the MIPI interface. The camera capture module supports H.264 encoding, which provides real-time data streaming of Raw H.264 multiplex coding from 4 camera sources. The integrated video codecs support compression and decompression of digital video streams, and the system can be switched flexibly between HD and standard definition video formats.

Additionally, the evaluation and development board supports the High Dynamic Range (HDR) for video and image capture, and enables the user to take full advantage of all the dynamic range of the video input source, achieving better color and contrast in the output video. The remote control system is enhanced with an integrated interface, allowing remote monitoring and control via either PC or embedded device.

The working principle of the EC-VA-H264-8B-60-1080-EVXC-ZL evaluation and development board includes two major parts. First, the core part is built around a highly integrated multimedia core that integrates multiple video codecs, video image processing, image processing, audio processing and multi-channel memory controller. It is the main engine for controlling the whole system. The multimedia core allows the system to support real-time capture of up to 4 HD resolution video streams simultaneously from 4 camera input sources.

The second part is the control layer, which provides system control through the on-chip memory and the external interface.
