Film capacitors are mainly used in AC circuits where a relatively constant capacitance or a precise capacitance value is required over a wide range of frequencies. The electrodes are formed by aluminium and tin, which are two metallic plates that are coated with EPT film. The two layers of pure aluminium foil and pure tin steel create the core of the ECQ-E10122KFB. These materials are joined together using an adhesive. ECQ-E1012KFB works on AC power in order to store energy and then release it when required. At the same time, the electrons from the plate connected to the positive side of the voltage source will accumulate in the pure aluminium foil. This creates an electrical field between the pure tin steel and pure aluminium foil layers, thus storing electrical energy in the capacitor.
When the AC voltage is removed, the electrical field will still remain in the ECQ-E10122KFB, enabling it to release its stored energy. Additionally, due to the low resistance characteristics of the material, the capacitor is able to rapidly discharge its stored energy into the load. ECQ-E1012KFB can also be used as a filter capacitor in DC circuits in order to reduce the ripple current or to reduce specific frequencies of AC signals.
