Film capacitors, also known as plastic film capacitors or film dielectric capacitors, consist of a plastic film, typically polyethylene terephthalate (PET), with metal electrodes deposited on the two sides of the film. Polyester film capacitors, for example, can contain different polyesters, such as polyethylene naphtalene or polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
