Film capacitors are a type of electronics components which offer a great performance when compared to other types such as aluminum electrolytic capacitors, ceramic capacitors and non-polarized capacitors.

ECQ-E1335JF3 is a film capacitor made by Panansonic. It is a non-polarized power capacitor type and the rated capacitance range is 0.47μF to 1.0μF. It has a rated operating temperature range of -40 °C to 85 °C and a rated voltage range of 200 V to 500 V. The ECQ-E1335JF3 is suitable for circuits of all types of lighting equipment, such as TVs, Air conditioners, washing machines, microwave ovens, cameras and electric carpets.

ECQ-E1335JF3 works according to Faraday’s Law of Electrostatics. It stores electrical charge in the form of an internal electrical field between two metal foils and produces an external electrical field that will affect neighboring electrical components. It has a physical structure of two rolled aluminum sheets, separated by a dielectric paper layer. The electrical charge moves across the capacitor and produces an electric field between the two metal foils. When the applied voltage is higher than the electric field of the capacitor, current flows and a voltage drop happens across the capacitor, thus reducing the power of the electric current.
