Film capacitors are divided into two classes: Polyester Film Type and Polypropylene Film Type. The former contain both dry and oil-filled films, and the latter are typically dry films only. ECQ-E2124KF is a high-performance polyester film type capacitor with high insulation resistance and wide temperature range. It is designed for use in very high frequency and high energy pulse applications such as in-line power factor correction, voltage sags, switching supplies, and active filters. ECQ-E2124KF is also well-suited for high-frequency lighting circuits and in specialty devices.

ECQ-E2124KF is a miniature open-type radial lead capacitor specifically designed with radial leads and a case made of Polystyrene film. This design provides superior capacitance retention, low dissipation factor and excellent surge current handling capability. ECQ-E2124KF can withstand high humidity and wet environments with no leakage current, corrosion, or mechanical erosion. Its robust construction and low ESR makes the ECQ-E2124KF ideal for high power applications in the power supply, telecommunications, and industrial electronics industries.

The ECQ-E2124KF film capacitor is designed to operate as a discrete capacitor or as part of a larger system in an electrical circuit. The ECQ-E2124KF capacitor operates by shunting current to a parallel load that is connected to the capacitor. This current flow can be represented by an electrical circuit diagram with an equivalent circuit model as seen below.
