The ECQ-E2275KB is a rolled film capacitor constructed with a thin polymer film as its dielectric. Polymer film has a relatively low dielectric constant, typically from 3.5-5.5, and is therefore able to store a charge at a lower voltage, making a smaller, more efficient and more reliable capacitor. The thin film is formed by applying a charge voltage to the polymer film and when a positive charge is applied, its electric field induces a negative electric field in the film, which repels electrons, creating a charge.The Ecq216 is also designed with a self-healing feature. In order to resist over-voltage and breakdowns, the charge voltage is kept below the dielectric breakdown voltage of the film. If the voltage rises higher than the dielectric breaking voltage, the film exhibits a partial breakdown and the charge splits into many small electrical arcing phenomena. This causes the electric field to become weaker and prevents the electric arc from continuing, eventually self-repairing itself and restoring the capacitor’s original capacity.Conclusion
