The ECQ-E4225JFW is composed of two layers of metalized polypropylene film with the internal connection layer treated with a proprietary polymer that improves insulation and insulation resistance. These layers are rolled into a metal can and filled with a high dielectric fluid which imparts longevity and self-healing properties. The component offers high capacitance stability over temperature, excellent insulation resistance, superior frequency response, and low dielectric absorption.
The ECQ-E4225JFW is ideal for reactive power factor correction, mains powered telecommunications, switch-mode power supplies, power electronics, drones, fuel cell power systems, and other applications where high current, low ESR, and excellent frequency response are needed.
The working principle of the ECQ-E4225JFW is simple. When a voltage is applied across the terminals of the device, the metal plates between the two layers of film become polarized. This induces an opposite polarization in the surrounding dielectric fluid. The film layers and the polarization of the dielectric fluid form two parallel capacitors in series. The charge and discharge of these capacitors cause the current flow. The dielectric absorbs some of the energy and prevents it from dissipating, while the dielectric fluid passes the charge directly to the circuit.
