Film Capacitors

Film capacitors, also known as plastic film capacitors, are commonly used as a ‘filter’ in applications involving high frequency signals, audio and video filtering or filtering/stabilization of power supplies. Plastic film capacitors are non-polarized and are also used as couplers or timing components in circuits.

The construction of the ECQ-E6472KF film capacitor is based on the structure of a thin sheet of plastic film such as polypropylene (PP) or polyester (PET) used as the dielectric. A metal layer is evaporated onto the film which forms the two electrodes.
