The ECS-.327-7-12QS-TR crystal works based on the piezoelectric effect, which is when a crystal oscillates at a frequency when an alternating voltage with the corresponding frequency is applied to it. It has the ability to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy and vice versa. Quartz responds to picometer level pressure and produces electric fields up to 100 volts. The charges generated on the surface of the crystal are collected and amplified. This signal is recovered by an amplifier in order to produce an output which is used for further signal processing.
