ECS-80-32-4X is a high precision crystal clock oscillator, with a frequency range from 8 MHz to 20 MHz and a frequency stability less than +/-50 PPM over the full temperature range (operating temperature range is -40℃ to +85℃ ). It is incredibly precise and has a wide range of applications in industries like aerospace, telecommunications, medical, IoT, automotive and weapons systems. This is because a crystal oscillator can provide a stable and precise frequency which can be used as an unbiased constant reference to both transmit and receive signals.

Application field of ECS-80-32-4X

The ECS-80-32-4X oscillator is designed to meet various industrial and scientific application requirements, where precise and stable frequency and optimal time and frequency accuracy are needed. It is suitable for synchronization of communication network, such as GSM systems, CDMA systems, UMTS systems and auxiliary systems, as well as synchronization of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other microwave systems. It can also be used to construct precision timing references, such as precise time keeping, precise frequency measurement and precise clock synchronization. Furthermore, it can be used as precise frequency references in metrology and high-precision frequency signal sources for signal analysis.

Working Principle of ECS-80-32-4X

The working principle of the ECS-80-32-4X is based on the resonance of quartz crystals. When the crystal is driven by an alternating current signal of the same frequency as its resonant frequency, the quartz crystal oscillator will generate a signal with very precise frequency. The crystal oscillators are based on two types of oscillator designs, namely the fundamental series resonant and parallel-resonant modes. The fundamental series resonant mode is the most commonly used, with the frequency determined by the resonance of the series resonant network.

The ECS-80-32-4X oscillator operates in a parallel-resonant mode, with the frequency determined by the resonance of the parallel-resonant network. The resonant frequency of a oscillator is determined by the electrical components included in the parallel-resonant network. The components are arranged to create a tank circuit which consists of two reactive elements: a resistor in series with a capacitor. The impedance within this tank circuit affects the flow of electrical current and therefore the resonance frequency.

In order to obtain an even more precise and stable frequency, the ECS-80-32-4X is designed with an integrated temperature compensation circuit which enables the oscillator to maintain an average temperature frequency tolerance of +/-50 PPM over the full temperature range. This temperature compensation circuit consists of a variable capacitor which is used to adjust the frequency of the oscillator in response to changes in temperature by changing the value of the capacitor.
