ECW-F2155JB Features and Specifications

ECW-F2155JB Working Principle

The ECW-F2155JB film capacitor has a built-in safety circuit for over voltage protection. This circuit is designed to limit the peak voltage across the capacitor to a predefined level that is sufficient to protect the internal components.When the voltage across the terminals of the ECW-F2155JB exceeds the peak voltage, the safety circuit trips and the capacitor starts discharging the energy stored in the capacitor. During this process, the voltage across the terminals of the ECW-F2155JB collapses, thus protecting the internal components of the capacitor from damage. The main components of the safety circuit are a crowbar circuit, a transistor, and two resistors. The crowbar circuit functions as a voltage comparator, triggering the transistor when the voltage across the terminals of the ECW-F2155JB exceeds the pre-set voltage. When the transistor turns on, it causes a short circuit between the two terminals of the capacitor, thus causing the voltage across the terminals to collapse.
