Optical Sensors Photointerrupters Slot Type Transistor Output (EE-SX1096-W1) are widely used in motor control systems, conveyor systems and other industrial automation projects. The photo transistor is responsible for sensing when light passes through the slot and sending a signal to the circuit. When the light beam is interrupted or obstructed, the photo transistor is switched off, and an electrical signal is sent to the circuit to switch on the transistor.

The EE-SX1096-W1 also contains an optical bezel which directs the incident light to the PD and IT as it passes through the slot. This is necessary to ensure accurate detection and performance. For optimal performance, the external circuitry should be designed utilizing solid-state technology.

The slot type optical sensor is designed to provide reliable operation even under extreme environmental conditions, and offers electrical and optical insensitivity to dirt, dust, dampness or oil. It has a wide operational temperature range ranging between -40°C and 100°C and utilizes either 2.5V or 5V operating voltage. It is also capable of providing a signal up to 500 kHz, thus making it suitable for high-speed applications.
