Optical sensors are devices that detect the presence of radiation either in the form of light emission (emitter) or light interruption (receiver). Photointerrupters are optical sensors comprised of an emitter and a receiver that are separated by a narrow slot. Slot type photointerrupters are specially designed with a slot-shaped light entrance, allowing for rapid response for even the slightest changes in an optical state. The EE-SX910-C1J-R 0.3M is an example of a slot type, transistor output photointerrupter. The EE-SX910-C1J-R 0.3M is a transistor output photointerrupter consists of an infra-red control emitter and phototransistor detector which is housed in a molded plastic package.
