The EE-SX951-R 3M is a transistor output slot type photointerrupter designed for use in control and monitoring applications. Working Principle
The EE-SX951-R 3M slot type photointerrupter consists of a sender and receiver unit housed in a single package. When light is applied to the interrupter, it is interrupted (or interrupted and resumed) by the shifting of an object. This interruption is detected and sensed by the sender and receiver units, causing the output of the photointerrupter to change state.
The sender consists of an LED light source and the receiver has an integrated phototransistor. When the LED is illuminated, the current which flows through the phototransistor is also increased. The increased current activates the phototransistor, causing the output of the photointerrupter to switch between its two output states: ‘on’ or ‘off’. The switching of the output occurs when the object interrupts the light between the LED and the phototransistor.
Uses
The EE-SX951-R 3M slot type photointerrupter is ideal for numerous industrial and automation applications, such as controlling the speed of a motor, verifying the position of an object, or detecting the presence of an object. It can also be used in many other applications that require accurate and reliable phototransistor sensing. Due to its high speed response time and wide operating temperature range, it is especially suitable for use in harsh environments.
The EE-SX951-R 3M is equipped with two pins for connection: one positive voltage and one ground. It has lead-free, removable terminations which allow for easy installation in electrical systems. Additionally, it is available in various sizes and colors to cater to the needs of each application.
