The EE-SY201 optical sensor is a reflective analog output type sensor that is designed to detect changes in the environment. The device is equipped with two separate Infrared (IR) detector elements that are used to measure distance. The output is a linear 0.2 mV/cm voltage signal.

The EE-SY201 utilizes a proprietary Adaptive Light Intensity Measurement (ALIM) selectable system that eliminates the need for calibration, making it highly accurate and reliable.The ALIM system also makes the EE-SY201 compatible with multiple infrared sources, such as sunlight, halogen lamps, and laser sources. All sources are filtered by the built-in filters which detects the band of interest and blocks all other sources of interference. This ensures low power consumption and improved signal to noise ratio
The EE-SY201 is available in 4 configurations – Single Layer, Dual Layer, and 2-Channel Type, which provide a range from 5-150 cm. Each version is also equipped with an LED and an audible buzzer to indicate the detection of an object. The average current consumption of the EE-SY201 ranges from 1.8 mA to 3.2 mA, which makes it suitable for battery-operated applications.
