Aluminum - Polymer CapacitorsAluminum - Polymer capacitors are a type of energy storage device commonly used in a wide variety of electronic and electrical applications. Specifically, EEF-CD0G680XR is a type of aluminum-polymer surface mount capacitor, which is designed and manufactured to withstand extreme temperature and harsh environmental conditions. The electric field is created when a voltage is applied to the two outer aluminum surfaces and a current is drawn from one of the layers. As the current passes through the dielectric layer, the polymer dielectric material responds by creating a high frequency field, which is known as EDlc. The greater the electric field, the greater the capacitance of the capacitor.The working principle of an aluminum-polymer capacitor is similar to that of any other capacitor – an energy storage device composed of two conductive plates separated by a dielectric material. When a voltage is applied to the two outer aluminum surfaces, an electric field is created and a charge is stored in the space between the two aluminum layers.
