The Pierce oscillator is an RF oscillator configuration named after Arthur H. Pierce who first described it in 1932. It is based on a voltage-regulated linear amplifier with at least two stages with the second stage’s output connected to its input and to an antenna terminal or other external circuit. In the Pierce oscillator, the output voltage signal is fedback to its own input, thus providing regenerative feedback. The emitted signal is at the resonant frequency of the antenna or other external circuit, which can be adjusted by varying the amplitude of the feedback voltage.The EG-2102CA 250.0000M-LHRAB oscillator employs a voltage-variable 4-bit voltage-controlled crystal oscillator (VCXO).
