The working principle of EHT-107-01-F-D-SR is based on a “home run” system, which uses contacts or contacts-headers to assemble the various elements. The elements are held in a specially designed tool that is held together by strong spring clips. The contact-headers are placed in the tool and then moved such that the pins of the contacts contact the pins the contacts- headers. The tool is then closed and the connection is complete, thereby creating a solid, reliable connection.

The contacts feature two primary means of grounding: first, the connection is made through a shielding technique that provides both EMI and RFI protection; and second, two point grounding tabs are used to secure the EHT-107-01-F-D-SR connection to eliminate any floating condition in the assembly. Additionally, to reduce undesired signaling and interference, the contact mating holes are placed off-center and in an angle to the axes of theheaders. This off-center position increases the inductive reactance of any parasitic interference.

The entire assembly is then soldered and further secured by press-fitting the contacts into the contact-headers. The press-fitted construction also adds additional strain relief against vibration and mechanical shock, further securing the connection.
