ELJ-FCR68KF application field and working principle

The ELJ-FCR68KF is a family of fixed inductors developed by Panasonic specifically for use in Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and Wi-Fi applications. This family of inductors is certified to compliance the 802.11aWLAN and Intel® Centrino® Wi-Fi standard. The ELJ-FCR68KF is an ultra-small, surface-mountable product series with excellent heat resistance and Surge Resistance to 500V.

The ELJ-FCR68KF features a wound construction with air-core and ferrite-bead material that provides a low DC resistance, allowing for stable operation. The device has a wide inductance range from 10nH to 47uH with a tolerance of ±20%, which makes it well-suited for applications involving voltage regulators, voltage DC-DC converters, power supplies and other related circuit applications.

The ELJ-FCR68KF is designed to function as a miniaturized low-ESR-inductor. It is optimized for use with low-ESR ceramic capacitors and follows strict SQC (Six-Sigma Quality Control) manufacturing and testing standards. The device also has a wide operating temperature range up to +125°C.

The ELJ-FCR68KF utilizes magnetically-coupled energy between the inductor and capacitor for optimal filtering, thereby improving the efficiency and stability of the system. The two components work together to decrease ripple current and noise, while also providing voltage stabilization for the circuit.
