The ELL-ATV100M is a horizontal grade inductor with a metal glaze, fixed coil and magnetic powder-filled core. The coil has the flexibility to be reshaped by using external force to make it compliant with the specific application’s requirements, then firmly held in its place with epoxy resin or molded in the assembly process. Furthermore, the ELL-ATV100M uses a low-resistance, high-permeability magnetic powder core boasting a high fluxing capability and reasonable cost. This promotes high performance and makes it uniquely suitable for applications demanding a high frequency or current and efficient protection from EMI and RFI in the range of DC to 1MHz. The working principle of the ELL-ATV100M is based on Faraday’s law of induction, which states that a changing current in a wire forms a varying magnetic flux which then induces a voltage in a second wire placed close to the first. Whenever the current in the first wire is changed (either increasing or decreasing), a voltage is induced in the second wire. The ELL-ATV100M fixed inductor is built around a thick coil of copper wire twisted many times around the core. When current passes through the windings, it generates a strong magnetic field around the core. Now, when the current changes, the magnetic field changes, and this variation is what induces the voltage in the second wire.The ELL-ATV100M’s coil and its magnetic core are designed to be a precise combination so that the ratio of induced voltage to applied current is constant. This provides the device with stable performance and helps to minimize any losses due to the generation of heat.
