EM-25447-C55 Application Field and Working Principle
The EM-25447-C55 condenser microphone, or simply the C55 Microphone, is a professional grade microphone from the esteemed EM-25447 series. Designed for vocal and instrument capturing, the C55 is a condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern and provides excellent frequency response and clarity. With its tight cardioid, extended low-end response, and high-SPL design, the C55 is great for capturing a wide range of sources, as well as being ideal choice for use in broadcasting, live stage, podcasting, and recording situations.
Application Field
The EM-25447-C55 is the result of years of research and development by the company and is one of the most popular condenser microphones around today. The C55 has been aptly used in professional recording studios, live stage events, podcast setups, and broadcasting applications. The studio setting is its most common application, with the C55 providing accurate and detailed audio when used as a vocal microphone, capturing instruments such as strings, guitar, and piano. It can be used as an overhead, for capturing drums, or as a room mic for capturing ambience and room sound. Its tight cardioid pattern also makes it perfect for sound isolation, or when capturing a sound source in a noisy or reverberant environment.
Working Principle
The EM-25447-C55 utilizes a 14 mm externally polarized condenser capsule with a cardioid polar pattern. The capsule is located within the center of the microphone housing and is surrounded by two layers of mechanical mesh to provide noise cancellation and control audio leakage in and out of the capsule. This ensures clean audio with minimal ambient noise. The C55 has a -10 dB high-pass filter, which rolls off low frequencies to reduce bass rumble and focuses on the mid-high frequency range for detailed audio capturing. The -10 dB compressor attenuates input levels beyond 0 dB, and allows the C55 to capture loud sources without distortion or clipping. The C55 has an evidence diaphragm that is resistant to loud transient spikes, which helps to protect the capsule from any potential damage. The C55 also has a standard 3-pin XLR output connector and is powered by 48V DC phantom power.
The EM-25447-C55 has recently been making waves with its high-quality sound, superior build quality, professional features, and very reasonable price point. With its ability to capture audio in a wide range of environments, the C55 is a great choice for any recording, broadcasting, podcasting, or live stage application.
