Fixed Inductors

The ER1840-135JR fixed inductor is a low-profile current-compensated choke coil consisting of a coil of insulated copper wire wound on a ferrite core. It is designed to provide effective suppression of electromagnetic interference (EMI) in applications where space and height are at a premium. The ER1840-135JR is available in a square or round shape and operates in either a single layer or multi-layer winding configuration. It is rated for current ratings up to 13.5A and inductance values up to 1.2mH.

Working Principle

The ER1840-135JR fixed inductor uses a ferrite core to store energy in a magnetic field in response to a current passing through the coil. This magnetic field induces an opposing current that interferes with unwanted frequencies, resulting in reduced EMI. The inductor also acts as a filter that blocks out frequencies that are higher than desired. The inductor’s performance is further enhanced by its low profile, allowing it to fit in tight spaces and allowing higher current throughput without increasing size or weight.
