The ERZ-CF2MK151 is a part of TVS (Transiling Voltage Suppressors) family of Varistors, MOVs (Metal Oxide Varistors) and Gas Discharge Tubes. This type of transilling voltage suppressor is uniquely designed to provide a wide range of effectiveness in suppressing voltage transients by incorporating high voltage capability and low capacitance with a wide range of stability at high temperature.
This product is known for its high reliability, excellent pulse clamping capability and long life. The maximum ratings for the ERZ-CF2MK151 includes working voltage of 600V, peak pulse current of 500A and clamping voltage of 1050V.

The working principle behind the ERZ-CF2MK151 can be explained using the following points. Firstly, when the external circuit experiences a voltage surge, the MOV component starts to conduct electric charge, which is stored in the form of electrical energy in the form of dielectric polarization. This stored energy helps to reduce the voltage induced by the transient. Secondly, when the transient voltage decreases the stored energy dissipates in the form of an electric current. This current limits the rise in voltage, thus providing protection.
