The performance of the components depends on the combination of voltage and current ratings and their respective response time. ERZ-E07A201 is one of those applications. It is a high power surge absorber specifically designed for protecting power supply, data lines, audio equipment, etc.

ERZ-E07A201 application field includes industrial automation, IT, communication, automotive and other fields. Its broad temperature range (-55°C/+125°C) makes it suitable for harsh environments and cold starts. It can be installed on printed circuit boards or any surface and it has a high surge absorption capability up to 400A/2500V. The working principle of ERZ-E07A201 is based on the combination of Non-Linear Resistance (NLR) and Metal Oxide Varistors (MOV). The first component acts as a switch, by changing its state when the voltage passes a pre-determined threshold. This triggers the second component which is the Varistor which absorbs the energy and absorbs the voltage and current transients. The MOV works by limiting the voltage between two terminals to a safe level. Once the threshold is exceeded, the varistor allows a high current to flow through it thus providing a protection against over-voltage transients and other extreme power conditions.
