Application Field of ERZ-E10A102

ERZ-E10A102 is suitable for the general systems and environmental conditions that require over voltage protection, such as coaxial communication systems, monitoring systems, instrument management systems and distributed control systems which include the power supply, signal control and data transmission. Apart from these general systems, it also can be used in military, aerospace and other high-reliability fields.

ERZ-E10A102 is designed with advanced pulse-clamping circuit and encapsulated in a solder-plated plastic plastic package. Thus, it can respond in microseconds for the over voltage to protect the system from the transient surges and avoid the system from any damage.

Working Principle of ERZ-E10A102

ERZ-E10A102 operates in the voltage range from 5V to 1000V, with an adjustable operating voltage of 170V-1000V. It is mainly composed of a zinc-oxide varistor, a reverse-biased diode, a capacitor and an inductor. When an over voltage occurs, the varistor would conduct the surge, and the diode will clamp its reverse voltage and prevent it from entering the system. The capacitor and the inductor, both which can reduce the peak and the waveform, will then reduce the transient surge\'s effect on the system.

The diode\'s clamp voltage can be adjusted according to the system requirement by the reverse-biased diode between the varistor and the ground. It works in the following formula: the peak of the surge voltage multiplied by the peak coefficient of the varistor plus the diode\'s clamp voltage. For instance, if the peak coefficient of the varistor is 1.1 and the diode\'s clamp voltage is 30V, the peak of the surge voltage should be 170V for the working principle of ERZ-E10A102.
