Transient Voltage Suppressors (TVS) are an important element of the protection circuitry which guard modern electronic systems from the hazardous effects of Electro Static Discharge (ESD), voltage spikes, pulse transients, and electromagnetic radiations. ERZ-E10F271 belongs to the family of TVS – Transient Voltage Suppressor Diode Arrays. It is a unidirectional voltage suppression device with two 1 Form A solid state relays (SSRs). It is available in a small form factor of 0.4 mm × 0.6 mm SSOP and SOIC packages. It has dual channel protection functions for ESD immunity and rejecting implanted transients in the high-speed data signal environments.

The working principle of ERZ-E10F271 is based on the Zener diode, which is the main component of the device. It consists of two Schottky diodes connected back to back. When the voltage across the clamp increases beyond the Zener breakdown voltage (VZ), the breakdown voltage of the Zener diode, the current starts to breakdown the Zener diode. This breakdown current is then limited by the external resistance connected to the diode. As the voltage is clamped, the peak current is limited and the voltage is regulated below the breakdown voltage.
