Varistors, also referred to as Varistor MOVs (Metal Oxide Varistor MOVs) are an important part of the electrical system. Varistors are special kind of four-layer semiconductors that monitor incoming AC (Alternating Current) voltage and instantaneously switch to protect the connected circuit from voltage surges.
