ERZ-U26JP162F is a surge absorber that belongs to the class of varistors or metal-oxide varistors (MOVs). MOVs are commonly used as protection devices for sensitive circuits against sudden large voltage surges, high transient voltages and electrical noise occurring on power cables.

ERZ-U26JP162F is specifically designed for high interference reception applications such as base stations, modems, switches and DSL routers. The product features a high peak power capacity of 26A/6V for lightning protection and a low current of 0.2mA and 0.2KV for noise protection.

The ERZ-U26JP162F is a single-channel transil, working on the principle of a general two-terminal (or three-terminal) transient voltage suppressor. Its working principle is based on the principle of a diode\'s avalanche breakdown phenomenon. The key feature of a single channel MOV is that it provides a short-circuit path for the transient voltage, allowing the transient current to pass, thus providing a sense of protection from the transient voltage.

The ERZ-U26JP162F deals with high break-down voltage, low capacitance, low thermal impedance and low clamping voltage. Additionally, the device operates in the temperature range from -40°C up to +85°C, displaying a maximum capacitance value of 1050pF at 1MHz.
