The ERZ-V05D361 is a high performance application specific overvoltage protection device used in DC power lines. It is part of a line of TVS - Varistors, MOVs, multipole protectors, ESD suppressors, and fuse elements from EPCOS, incorporated into a single package. It offers superior protection against overvoltages in telecom, medical, factory automation, computer and measurement applications, and features excellent EMR (Electromagnetic Susceptibility) and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protection.
The ERZ-V05D361 has a two-pole voltage suppressor that is designed for short-circuit protection when used with a DC voltage source in a DC power system. The device is connected between the voltage source and the load, and it is designed to provide overvoltage protection from common and fast-transient overvoltage conditions. The device also offers EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) protection and EMI (Electromagnetic Interference). It is also designed to meet the requirements of EN (European Norm) 1677-1 for EMC performance.
The device operates in two modes: Overvoltage Protection and Overvoltage Detection. In Overvoltage Protection Mode, the device will limit the surge to a preset voltage level, allowing the protected system to remain operational.
