ERZ-V05D391 is one of the key products of TVS - Varistors, MOVs. This application is mainly designed for surge protection and lightning protection. The working principle of the ERZ-V05D391 is based on Miller Process. It uses Miller Coefficient to reduce the surge current. The Miller Coefficient equation determines the resistance of the varistor when there is a surge current running through it. Different varistors need to be subject to different Miller Coefficients, depending on the current situation and the ideal protection. For this product, the Miller Coefficient is large enough to maintain the current in the circuit and reduce the peak values.

On the physical structure, it is composed of two electrodes, a glass tungsten copper (GTC) layer and a white varistor ceramic layer (referred to as “V” and “C”). The inner side of GTC layer is covered with silver paste, which is a very good conductive material, and it can reduce the voltage spikes generated by the current surge. The varistor ceramic layer can reduce the voltage difference between two points, making the current flow safely and stably. In addition, the two electrodes are encapsulated in a plastic envelope as the housing of the varistor.The plastic envelope has a strong flame retardant effect and can withstand a certain temperature environment. It also has excellent long-term stability.
