Working Principle
The ERZ-V05D470 works in a non-linear, reverse-biased operation, which means that it can only be activated when an excessive voltage is reaching it. This happens when the current passing through it starts to increase past its maximum allowed threshold. At this moment, the varistors’ intrinsic capacitance properties start to reduce the voltage rate of the current passing through it, thus protecting the equipment or system by limiting the voltage to its accepted value.
The ARMICER product is based on a metal oxide material with an encapsulated external electrode that is the main feature of its durable construction and a leakage current of less than 0.1µA. The combination of the material and electrode make the ERZ-V05D470 very reliable and resistant to different environmental factors such as temperature, pressure and humidity.
