Working Principle of ESM020W-0440-34

The basic working principle of any LED driver is the same – it steps down the voltage from a power supply to the correct range and regulates the current. This ensures that the LED produces the desired amount of output (i.e., brightness) without exceeding the rated power specifications. This LED driver works by using a switching mode power supply to reduce the input voltage into a low voltage DC output, which is ideal for powering LED lighting.

The ESM020W-0440-34 is designed with a current mode Boost-Buck regulation circuit. When the LED driver is not powered, the power MOSFET will be off and no current flows through. When the input voltage is applied, the power MOSFET switches on and a current loop is established between the voltage source and the LED array. The LED driver will then adjust the current to the specified current loop. This ensures that the LED is driven in a constant current state and produces the desired brightness.
