ESQ-123-14-T-S Rectangular Connectors - Headers, Receptacles, Female Sockets

The ESQ-123-14-T-S is a connector used for group interconnect solutions and are made of plastic or metal bodies with a variety of plating options. It is commonly used in electronic assemblies, communication equipment, telecommunications, and automotive industries. This connector is a type of rectangular header and receptacles which have socket contact and plug contact.

Connector Description

The ESQ-123-14-T-S rectangular connector is a female socket type connector made of natural nylon or PP material. It has a pitch of 2.54 mm with 14 pins per row. It has two rows of contact which makes it easy to identify and also facilitate the wire harness. It is designed with Polarizing ribs which prevents mismatching of 1/2 mating parts and ensures that only the right mating connector is used. It has contacts made of phosphor bronze and has a beveled edge on one side. It is also designed with integrated lock tab to properly ensure tight connection.

Working Principle

This connector has a low voltage rating, but it is still designed for operating at high frequencies. It has an integrated locking system which locks the connector properly for an extended life span. This lock system is enabled by a small tab which pulls out to lock the two connected parts together. The tail member of the plug connector will not release until the locking tab is pressed in. The plug connector and the receptacle connector are made of spring material to ensure that a good contact is established even in case the two connectors are not mated perfectly. The plug connector has multiple contact pins and each of them is gold plated to resist corrosion and oxidation. These pins are designed to ensure that the correct connection is established when mating and that the contacts are not displaced while locking the connectors. The current carrying capacity of this connector is up to 2A per pin and a dielectric strength of 1000Vrms. The temperature range for operating this connector is from -40°C to 85°C and the contact resistance should be less than 20 mΩ while the insulation should be greater than 1000MΩ. Its Operating lifetime is up to 500 cycles of mating and unmating.
