The ESS015W-0700-18 LED driver is specifically designed for use in the automotive industry. The ESS015W-0700-18 adopted a unique AC-DC PFC (pulse-width modulation) constant-current LED driver design. Its high current-regulation accuracy is up to 0.2%, which can eliminate any possibilities of light alternation, flickering and brightness variation even in a highly-vibrating environment. The built-in ESS soft-protection features can protect against over current, over voltage, and open/short circuit as well. The overload protection can withstand up to 140% constant & runaway current for a short period, and up to 130% constant & runaway current over a long period.

The ESS015W-0700-18 LED driver utilizes an efficient topology with support for bandwidths up to 30kHz. This makes the product significantly robust, providing superior reliability and high performance requirements. To ensure a reliable design, multiple electrical parameters must be set properly, and Thermal Feedback (TFB) has been built in to control the output current automatically to ensure safe and reliable operation.

The ESS015W-0700-18 also utilizes lead-lag-straggered PWM control to optimize the efficiency of inductive load applications. This feature reduces power consumption, operating temperature, and noise emissions while protecting the system from potential damage. Additionally, the driver is provided with two independent over temperature protection sensors, a soft-start circuitry, zero-crossing protection, and an external temperature sensor for improved safety.
