ESW-102-13-S-D is classified as a Rectangular Connector – Header, Receptacle, Female Socket based on its physical traits, which include a 2mm pitch, 2x13 contact configuration. It is a two-piece, snap-in style connector designed for easy mating and unmating. The connector system is composed of a male header which plugs into a female receptacle. The female receptacle contains the 13 female sockets which accept the male pins of a corresponding cable assembly.

The key advantage of this connector system is its low profile design, making it ideal for applications where space is limited. Thanks to the external plastic housings and the strong spring force of the contacts, the series is suitable for applications that require reliable yet compact connections. In addition, the connectors are assembled with through-hole mounting, making ESW-102-13-S-D ideal for industrial and commercial applications since they are soldered onto a printed circuit board.

As for its working principle, the ESW-102-13-S-D connector system is designed to mate and unmate with ease. To mate the connectors, simply insert the male header into the female receptacle and it will snap into place thanks to the strong spring force. When it is time to unmate the connectors, simply press in the locking tabs on the sides of the female socket and pull the male header.
