Working Principle
The ETRAB4503 operates on the linear polarization principle, where antennas are designed to send and receive signals in one direction. This linear polarization is achieved by using two vertical dipoles in series, with the signals orthogonally combined at the output port, thus providing excellent directivity and gain. Furthermore, the antenna is designed to provide an omnidirectional coverage of 360° in azimuth plane and 180° in elevation plane, with the radiated power uniformly distributed.
The antenna is constructed using a hollow rectangular waveguide, which is optimized for efficiency. Inside the waveguide is the antenna element, composed of a pair of vertically-stacked dipoles, one oriented horizontally and the other vertically, connected in series through a feed network, and fed by a polarized antenna feed connector.
