The EV-ADRN-WSN-1Z Evaluation Board comprises of a wireless sensor network (WSNs) that combines Texas Instruments’ ultra-low power microcontrollers with cost-effective packet radio transceivers and antennas to establish an advanced communication link.

This system solves of the biggest problems faced in designing efficient and cost-effective WSNs: the low-cost, low-power, wireless communication link. This allows users to implement and test their WSNs design quickly, without having to invest in expensive hardware.

The onboard 2.4 GHz IEEE 801.15.4-based radio transceivers provide efficient communication links that are optimized for short-range, low-power applications. The included 802.15.4 compliant RF antennas allow data packets to be transmitted between nodes efficiently. Additionally, the ADRN-WSN-1Z provides up to 28 GPIO pins to establish connections to external sensors and/or actuators, as well as analog and digital ports to provide direct control of a variety of inputs and outputs.

The board features Texas Instruments’ ultra-low power microcontrollers (MCUs) to provide an advanced communication link with a low-power design. The integrated MCUs are capable of running with extremely low power consumption, allowing for longer battery life and improved performance. Additionally, the boards offer a variety of power management options, allowing users to further optimize the board to meet their power requirements.

The ADRN-WSN-1Z Evaluation Board also includes pre-programmed demonstration applications to help users quickly develop and test their WSNs applications. These applications are designed for low-level, low-power, and low-cost prototyping in WSN environments. Additionally, the board provides the necessary components for developing WSN applications, such as an array of sensors, transceivers, antennas, MCUs, and a variety of cables and connectors.
