EVB-EC2630QI is an evaluation board used for offline AC/DC and DC/DC switched mode power supplies (SMPS). This evaluation board is designed to evaluate the performance of the EC263QI SMPS and to act as a development platform for system designs using the chip.The EVB-EC2630QI is based on the EC263QI SMPS controller, a single-channel, PFC pre-regulated converter that combines a resonant reset controller with a primary side PFC controller in one package. This controller simplifies the converter design and optimizes the performance and reliability. The controller features peak current mode control (PCM) with cycle-by-cycle peak current limit, resonant reset primary side controller, and PFC pre-regulated voltage feedback loop with OVP.The EVB-EC2630QI evaluation board features a single switch isolated topology and two operating modes: Power Factor Correction (PFC) and Resonant Reset (RR). The board facilitates the evaluation of various high performance parameters including Power Factor (PF), Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and Efficiency. The operating modes are selected via jumpers on the board and primary side PFC operation is selected by pressing the soft-start pushbutton. It also includes a secondary side full-wave bridge rectifier to allow for evaluation of the mains AC input including AC current measurements.The board also features an adjustable operating frequency via the external resonance capacitor located on the board. This allows for optimization of the transfer function and the total solution performance especially for designs with wide input range and or light loads. The EVB-EC2630QI evaluation board also features protections such as over-voltage protection (OVP), over-current protection (OCP), over-temperature protection, UVLO and auto restart as well as a bridge enabled state indication.The output power of the EVB-EC2630QI evaluation board can be adjusted by changing the external power MOSFETs and inductor(s) which also allows for different output voltage levels.Overall, the EVB-EC2630QI evaluation board is ideal for system designers looking to evaluate the performance of the EC263QI SMPS and to create designs using this chip. It includes various features to optimize the performance of the system design and helps designers to create cost-effective power supply solutions with improved performance.
